GLOW! System: Optimise
What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are used to to reduced fine lines and wrinkles, smooth surfaces and replace soft tissue volume. Dermal fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is a gel like substance naturally found in our body. As we age we lose the natural occuring HA, dermal fillers are used to replace this volume to restore a more youthful look.
Are they safe?
Dermal fillers are a safe and well tolerated treatment. However with all Medical procedures there are some potential risks and side effects including, redness, swelling bruising to the injections site, skin necrosis and allergic reactions.
All side effects will be discussed during your consultation.
Which areas are treated?
Charlotte will assess your facial anatomy and expectations fully prior treatment. Popular areas to be treated include:
- Lips
- Cheeks
- Nasal labial Lines
- Marionette lines
- Glabellar
- Smokers Line
Mesotherapy (small droplets of HA to improve skin fullness)
- Hands
- Chest (decolletage)
How long does it last? When will I notice a difference?
- Results will be instant, though please note that here may be some swelling which may take a few days to go down. The effect may continue to improve over the following few weeks as the HA attracts water and therefore increases volume.
- The affects of treatment are likely to last 4 - 18 months depending on the area being treated.

What to expect
Charlotte will assess your facial anatomy during the initial consultation in order to work out the best treatment areas for you.
The areas being treated will be cleaned and a local anaesthetic cream will be used to numb the area. The injection of the filler should only take a few moments (depending on areas treated). All the fillers that Charlotte uses contain local anaesthetic. Most areas are very well tolerated with client complaining of some mild stinging.
Following treatment, Charlotte will invite you back for a 2 week review.
Aftercare
- Do not touch the area or apply make up for 12 hours after the treatment.
- Avoid intense heat (saunas) or extreme cold for 2 weeks post treatment.
If you have any concerns please don't hesitate to contact Charlotte.
